Immutable Prescriptions Held on the Blockchain
The project makes it possible for individuals to record and distribute digital property using iDIN technology. IDIN is an authentication service which joins the blockchain allowing a person a fresh way to acquire drugs that are prescribed.
Those who suffer with chronic illnesses up-to-date electronic prescriptions and overviews of the drugs are offered by the proof-of-concept developed by Engelen. With expert help from the blockchain branch of Deloitte, Prescrypt aims to set the individual users in charge of their drugs and information instead of sharing it with third partiesbc casino bitcoin gambeling bitcoin casino us bonus Engelen details in his article:
«The inherent blockchain makes it possible for these consumers to decide for themselves which healthcare provider to talk about their advice with and which provider to send their prescription to. There is always one complete set of data by putting the consumer in control of his information, instead of several different parties; a change compared to the multitude of siloed, often incomplete data sources healthcare providers and consumers face today. This product brings information ownership back to the healthcare consumer and bitcoin casinos reviews 712×280.»
Healthcare-related blockchain implementations such as Prescrypt cover a wide assortment of consumer information. Researchers are currently using Gem, as well as a few other ledgers with clinical trials too.
Bitcoin.com recently reported on two clinicians John Holden, a General Practitioner, and Greg Irving of the University of Cambridge who invented a concept to make clinical trial documents immutable using the Bitcoin blockchain.
Engelen’s team at REshape Center for Innovation is only currently concentrating on prescriptions at the moment from completion. Engelen explains:
«PreScrypt is obviously in no way a complete product. We have built this product in only a few days to demonstrate the power of Blockchain technology; to show to everyone that it is technically feasible to use Blockchain for health care scenarios. In our view this use case is the first step towards a digital health environment comprising an abundance of much richer applications. Think of ways to streamline the financial activities in health from user to insurer to provider, Internet of Things applications that can communicate over the Blockchain, a complete PHR rather than one just focusing on drugs etc.. We envision that many unique providers can build their applications onto the same infrastructure, each having the ability to communicate with each other and the healthcare consumer’s data. We at REshape will continue to look into this awesome technology and you’ll be hearing more from us soon.»
Blockchain technology appears to be a match made in heaven. With manipulation from the medical industry, such as the fraud with the Theranos firm and the transgressions, projects like Lucien Engelen’s Prescrypt might be the most secure method of data collection.
